Fancy a treasure hunt? A thrilling islandwide game, with a grand prize of $100,000, has sparked excitement as Singaporeans search for the elusive ‘mouse’ hidden in various public locations. The HuntTheMouse event, which kicked off on March 9, offers prizes that must be claimed within 30 days.
Organized by Sqkii, the game features 101 hidden ‘mice’—coins scattered across Singapore. The prizes include a gold coin worth $50,000 and 100 silver coins, each valued at $500. A total of $100,000 will be awarded to those who successfully locate these hidden treasures.
One participant took to TikTok to share her experience of searching in a playground in Choa Chu Kang, where she only found a stray 20-cent coin. Meanwhile, other hunters have been scouring various spots around the island, eagerly awaiting new clues from the event organizer.
Sqkii has released 16 hints so far, guiding participants toward the secret locations, with the gold coin already hidden under “something” and the silver coins being sporadically placed in different areas throughout the month. While several silver coins have been discovered, the grand prize remains elusive.
This treasure hunt has a history of success. In 2018, a similar game led to the discovery of a gold coin worth $100,000 in Hougang. The current iteration is the fourth in the series, following a 2021 event where the prize was found two months later under a sky bridge in Queenstown.
For those interested in joining the hunt, more information is available at huntthemouse.sqkii.com.
In 2021, another cash hunt went viral when a TikToker claimed to have hidden $1,000 in public locations around Singapore. While some people eagerly participated, others questioned the authenticity of the stunt, suggesting that the money could have been better used for charitable causes.
