Singapore has been enjoying cool 24°C weather over the 2023 Lunar New Year period, making visitations comfortable, albeit slightly inconvenient due to persistent downpours. The unusually cool weather brought foggy conditions that shrouded the Central Business District, resembling Genting Highlands rather than typically sunny Singapore.
For those seeking relief from the grey and wet conditions, a change is on the horizon. While Jan. 25 remains cool and wet, with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 26°C and moderate rain across the island, sunny conditions are expected to make a return by Jan. 26.
The four-day weather outlook from Thursday to Sunday forecasts temperatures rising between 24°C and 33°C, though there will still be some rain to bring occasional relief from the heat.
This could be the final week to enjoy what’s left of the cooler, sweater-worthy weather, as the current monsoon surge is anticipated to ease up by the end of January. The National Environment Agency (NEA) previously noted that “the rainy weather during the monsoon surge period is likely to result in lower daily temperatures of between 22°C and 30°C on a few days.”
However, NEA added, “The rainy weather is likely to ease in the last week of the month, with localised short-duration thundery showers to be expected in the afternoon.”
