SINGAPORE — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be making a working visit to Singapore on September 7 and 8 as part of his upcoming Asia tour. Trudeau’s office confirmed the visit on Wednesday, August 30, while Singapore’s Prime Minister’s Office announced that he will meet with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on September 8.

Trudeau’s Singapore visit will include discussions with key private sector leaders, with a focus on enhancing economic partnerships. His Asia tour begins with the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 5 and 6, followed by his working visit to Singapore. The trip concludes with the G20 Summit in New Delhi, India, on September 9 and 10.

The Canadian PM’s office highlighted Singapore as “an important partner under Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.” During the visit, Trudeau aims to strengthen bilateral relations, promote Canadian exports, and position Canada as a favorable destination for investment.
