In a heartfelt post on Reddit, a 24-year-old cancer survivor from Singapore opened up about the struggle of reentering the workforce with no savings and limited financial resources. Since being declared cancer-free in November 2023, she has been seeking employment opportunities to support herself and reduce the financial burden on her family. However, despite numerous attempts, she has faced multiple rejections, leading her to question if her health history might be affecting her prospects.

As she continues her university studies, currently in her third-year second semester, she asked the community, “Is it too early for me to get back? What should I do?”

Redditors responded with support and advice, commending her strength. One commenter wrote, “You took on a life-changing challenge and came out stronger. Focus on staying well, mentally and physically. Opportunities will come in time.” Another suggested tailoring her resume to avoid discussing her health journey unless asked, noting, “It’s your private medical matter—you’re not obliged to disclose it.”

Others recommended she contact her university’s career services for guidance or industry contacts, while another user shared words of encouragement: “You’re a warrior. Finding internships and fresh grad jobs is tough for anyone. You’re not alone in this.”

This echoes the experiences of many navigating a challenging job market, as others recently shared struggles with securing employment even after sending dozens of applications.
