Starting October 2024, civil servants in Singapore will receive an annual allowance of S$500 for “health, well-being, and personal growth.” From January 1, 2025, medical and dental benefits will also be enhanced, announced Minister-in-charge of the Public Service, Chan Chun Sing, at the opening of Public Service Week at ITE College Central on July 10.

This new benefit, known as “FlexiGrow,” allows eligible officers to allocate the allowance based on their personal needs, including courses for self-development and fitness programs. “In an environment of constant change, the well-being of officers is essential. You can’t keep pouring your hearts into service if you’re not taken care of,” Chan said.

Additionally, from July 1, 2025, the Public Service will raise the retirement and re-employment ages to 64 and 69, respectively, ahead of the scheduled 2026 increase. This effort aims to support civil servants in staying active and meaningfully engaged at work for longer.
