“A tragic accident at the junction of Bartley Road East and Airport Road on 15 March has claimed the life of a 70-year-old motorcyclist. The elderly rider sustained severe injuries after being struck by a car and later died in hospital.

Dashcam footage shared on social media shows the motorcyclist changing lanes at a red light when a fast-approaching white car collides with him. The force of the impact sent the man onto the vehicle’s roof before he was thrown several metres away, with his helmet dislodged in the crash.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that emergency services were alerted to the scene around 4:40 pm. The injured motorcyclist was rushed to Changi General Hospital in an unconscious state but later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not disclosed the exact time of death.

The 30-year-old woman driving the white car has been arrested for careless driving leading to injury. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.”
