SINGAPORE: A Tower Transit Singapore bus on service route 858 collided with a road barrier at Changi Airport Terminal 3 (T3) on May 21, injuring at least 20 passengers and the 25-year-old bus driver. Videos posted on Facebook captured the aftermath, showing the bus with a damaged front bumper and dislodged front door, while debris and handrails lay scattered inside.
The Singapore Police Force reported that the incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. The driver and 20 passengers, aged between 21 and 68, were conscious when taken to the hospital. Initial statements from Tower Transit indicate that the accident happened when a security barrier, lifted to allow the bus to proceed, was suddenly reactivated, causing the collision. Tower Transit is reaching out to the injured and their families to offer assistance.
