The body of Audrey Fang, a 39-year-old Singaporean woman who went missing while on holiday in Spain, has been found, according to Spanish media. Fang’s body was discovered in a lorry park in Abanilla, Murcia, approximately 150 kilometers from where she was last seen. Reports indicate she suffered over 30 stab wounds. Her body was initially found the day after she disappeared on April 9 but remained unidentified until April 17.
A Singaporean man is currently in Spanish police custody as a suspect in the case. Fang had been staying at a luxury hotel in Xàbia, Valencia, for a solo vacation, with her booking covering April 4 to 10. Her last known activity was leaving her hotel on the evening of April 10 to meet someone, though her acquaintances were unsure of the individual’s identity. Her belongings were still in her room, and her family, who last spoke to her that day, filed a missing person report when she failed to return to Singapore on April 12.
The suspect was detained by the Guardia Civil in Alicante on April 17 and transferred to Murcia for further investigation. Fang’s tragic disappearance has left her family and the community devastated.
