Changi Airport Terminal 2 (T2) has reopened after a three-and-a-half-year revamp. At the T2 Expansion Opening Ceremony on Nov. 1, Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean shared that construction began in January 2020, just two months before the pandemic closed Singapore’s borders. Now fully operational, T2 is ready to join Changi’s four-terminal lineup, featuring new and enhanced offerings to explore.

Nature-Themed Ambiance
Embracing Singapore’s “Garden City” spirit, T2 now boasts lush installations and greenery. A 14-meter digital waterfall called “The Wonderfall” is set within a vertical garden at the heart of the departure hall. Inside the transit area, an enchanted garden showcases a digital sky that changes hues throughout the day, creating a serene and immersive experience.

Enhanced Check-in and Immigration
Upgrades to T2 include a centralized FAST (Fast and Seamless Travel) zone, with twice the automated kiosks and bag-drop machines. Expanded immigration halls now feature automated Special Assistance Lanes for those with disabilities and young children, marking a first for Changi Airport.

New Dining and Retail Highlights
T2 brings a diverse lineup of food and retail options, including Southeast Asia’s first Funko Pop pop-up, featuring exclusive figurines and statues for photo ops. For a relaxed bite, Jones the Grocer debuts with its first landside duplex café, offering both grab-and-go items and a soon-to-open bar on the upper level. Other new choices include JINJJA Kitchen’s hotplate bulgogi and croffles and the return of Hard Rock Café to Changi, serving its famed Legendary Steak Burgers and exclusive merchandise.

Unique Experiences
T2 also introduces unique experiences, like Lotte Duty Free’s double-storey store with “Toni” the robot bartender. In a nod to Tang dynasty poet Li Bai, the bar is crowned with an LED ring depicting the moon’s reflection on a lake. K-pop fans can head to Lotte’s Forest of Li Bai lounge, where they can take selfies with virtual K-pop idols and sample whiskey from 18 dispensers.

From nature-inspired spaces to culinary adventures and unique shopping finds, Changi’s upgraded T2 offers new reasons to arrive early and explore before your flight.
