SINGAPORE: Many Singaporeans expressed their frustration with Domino’s Pizza after experiencing significant delays in delivery during National Day celebrations on August 9. A surge of disgruntled customers took to social media to voice their complaints about the service.

Delayed Over 2 Hours One customer, hoping to enjoy her pizza while watching the National Day Parade (NDP), complained that her wait was longer than the parade itself. She shared with Mothership that she placed her order at 5:36 PM through Domino’s website, which “guarantees” delivery within 30 minutes. However, her order was delayed by more than two hours. Despite multiple attempts to reach Domino’s hotline (6222 6333), she could not get through as the line was constantly engaged. Frustrated, she left feedback via the order tracking page and requested a refund. As of August 10, she still had not received her order or any updates from Domino’s.

Unreachable Through Hotline Another customer reported that he placed an advance order at 3 PM for a scheduled delivery at 6 PM. Although the order status indicated it was being prepared by 5 PM, it was still not in the oven by 6 PM. Like the previous customer, he tried to call Domino’s but was unsuccessful. By 6:30 PM, he reached out to customer service via email and received a refund by 7 PM. With children at home, he empathized with others in similar situations and decided to order food elsewhere.

Just Chips for NDP Disappointment echoed from another customer who ordered at 5:30 PM, only to see her order status remain “pending” until 11 PM, when it finally changed to “being prepared.” By midnight, it read “delivered,” but she had yet to receive her food. After failing to contact Domino’s through various channels, she and her family resorted to eating chips while watching the NDP. The next day, she received a message from Domino’s offering a free regular pizza as compensation. However, she expressed that one pizza was insufficient to restore her trust in the service, preferring a refund instead.

Comments on Domino’s Facebook page were filled with similar complaints, showcasing the widespread discontent among customers. One individual humorously remarked about adopting a flexible definition of “pizza” after waiting three hours for their order.

Mothership has reached out to Domino’s for comment.
