Robin Chua, a 43-year-old former officer in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), tragically passed away from cardiac arrest on April 28 after collapsing at his workplace. Chua, who had recently left the SAF as a lieutenant colonel to work in his family’s engineering business, fainted on the job and later fell into a coma while en route to the hospital. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.

According to Chua’s sister, he fainted around 2 p.m. that day. A colleague performed CPR, briefly reviving him, and others quickly called an ambulance. Unfortunately, Chua lost consciousness again, and medical staff could not revive him during transit.

Friends and family, who described Chua as “fit and strong,” were deeply shocked by his sudden passing. A close army friend noted, “He’s always been fit and strong; we didn’t expect him to collapse so suddenly.” Chua was a dedicated family man who had served in the SAF for over 20 years, earning a commendation medal at the 2021 National Day Awards.

In a heartfelt tribute, Chua’s wife, Ferlina Ahmad, described him as hardworking, resilient, and adventurous. “He will forever hold a special place in my heart,” she wrote on Facebook, thanking friends and family for their memories with him. Chua’s wake was held on April 29 at Woodlands Memorial.
