Just a year into his new role as an engineer, former army officer Robin Chua tragically passed away on April 28 after collapsing at his workplace. The 43-year-old, who held the rank of lieutenant colonel before leaving the army in 2023, was working at his family’s electrical engineering company. Chua leaves behind his wife, Ferlina Ahmad, and their four-year-old son.
According to Chua’s sister, he fainted around 2 p.m. on the day of his collapse. A colleague immediately administered CPR, temporarily reviving him. However, Chua fell unconscious while en route to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead due to cardiac arrest.
Chua’s family, who were taken aback by the sudden loss, noted that while he was a smoker, he had no known family history of heart issues. “He was a devoted son and brother, always willing to help whenever needed,” his sister shared. His wife, Ferlina, described him as a hardworking and disciplined man, dedicated to providing for his family and getting along well with everyone he met.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Ferlina paid tribute to her husband, writing, “Robin was the epitome of hard work, determination, and resilience, qualities I deeply admired. Though he has embarked on a new journey, his spirit of adventure will live on in our hearts.”
