Earlier this week, Mothership reported on the near-kidnapping of a seven-year-old Singaporean boy in Johor Bahru, allegedly orchestrated by his father’s business partner. The boy’s father, Lin, age 41, managed to rescue his son after intercepting the abductors’ vehicle, which the suspects abandoned after being confronted.
Following the incident, Lin filed police reports in both Singapore and JB, sharing his experience to encourage Malaysian authorities to pursue all involved. At first, only the alleged mastermind—Lin’s business partner—had been apprehended.
On Dec. 21, Malaysian news outlet Sin Chew Daily reported that the three remaining suspects, aged 15, 17, and 18, were arrested on Dec. 20 in the Pontian district at around 5:20 pm. The suspects are currently in custody and will remain detained until Dec. 24.
