SINGAPORE: After days of heavy traffic congestion as Singaporeans crossed into Malaysia for the Good Friday-Easter long weekend, the situation has finally improved at both the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints. By 7:30 pm on Easter Sunday (April 9), travellers were able to return to Singapore in under an hour.
According to the Checkpoint.sg mobile app, travel time from Johor Bahru to the Woodlands checkpoint at 7:30 pm ranged from 110 to 170 minutes, while those crossing through the Tuas Second Link experienced shorter waiting times, between 50 and 75 minutes.
Just hours earlier, photos posted by netizens showed snaking queues at the checkpoints around 5 pm, though the congestion was far less intense than the jams faced on Thursday and Friday, which saw significant delays due to the holiday rush.
