Lim Cheng Cheng, the outgoing Chief Operating Officer of Singtel, has resigned from the board of directors of Singapore Post (SingPost), effective December 23. She stepped down as a non-executive, non-independent director, as confirmed by a filing with the Singapore Exchange.

Lim had been a member of the SingPost board for over seven and a half years, having joined on April 1, 2017. Her resignation follows an announcement by Singtel last month that the 53-year-old executive will be leaving the company to pursue new career opportunities.

Mark Chong, 60, who previously held the position of Singtel’s Chief Technology Officer from 2017 to 2022, will succeed Lim in her role at SingPost.

In light of Lim’s departure, Singtel has nominated a new non-executive, non-independent director to take her place on the SingPost board. Additionally, SingPost stated that Lim would no longer serve on the finance and investment committee.

Singtel, a major shareholder in SingPost, has seen significant leadership changes recently. SingPost also announced the termination of three senior executives, including CEO Vincent Phang, CFO Vincent Yik, and the head of the international business unit, Li Yu, following investigations into a whistle-blower’s report earlier this year. Phang and Yik have contested their dismissals, describing them as “without merit” and “procedurally unfair.”
