SINGAPORE – A growing number of Singaporean professionals are adopting “loud learning,” a trend on LinkedIn where individuals openly share their skill-building journey to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving job market. According to LinkedIn, loud learning is the “act of being vocal and intentional about learning ambitions in the workplace,” a practice that has become popular among Singaporean professionals as they adapt to shifting job requirements.

A recent survey by LinkedIn revealed that 31% of professionals in Singapore are already engaged in loud learning. This includes sharing knowledge with colleagues (47%), posting their learning progress on LinkedIn (45%), and openly dedicating time to personal development (31%). The approach has fostered a culture of “learning BFFs” – coworkers who support each other’s growth, with 60% of professionals saying they feel inspired to learn by seeing colleagues embrace this approach.

LinkedIn career expert Pooja Chhabria highlighted the urgency of continuous learning, noting that required skills for many roles are projected to shift by 50% by 2030, and generative AI may accelerate this change to 72% in Singapore. Ms. Chhabria encourages professionals to embrace loud learning as a way to stay relevant and inspire others to prioritize skill development.

Loud learning offers direct benefits, with over half of Singaporean professionals reporting that it enhances career growth, job satisfaction, and networking opportunities, providing a proactive strategy to future-proof their careers.
