Malaysian kopitiam brand Oriental Kopi is set to open its first international outlet in Singapore by the third quarter of 2024. Known for its rich coffee and thick egg tarts, the chain also offers favorites like nasi lemak, mee siam, and polo buns.
In partnership with Singapore’s Paradise Group, the brand plans to open eight outlets across the city-state within three years. Paradise Group, which operates well-known eateries like Paradise Dynasty, Beauty in The Pot, and Canton Paradise, has hinted that the first Oriental Kopi location will be in a prime spot, though the exact address is yet to be confirmed.
With 14 branches across Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, and Selangor, Oriental Kopi enjoys a strong following. Long queues are common at their popular Johor Bahru locations, including at Mid Valley Southkey and City Square. Dine-in wait times can exceed an hour during peak times, while takeaway queues for drinks and egg tarts move more quickly.
