In yet another example of scammers using celebrities’ photos to promote dubious products, comedian and actor Mark Lee called out online fraudsters for poorly editing his face onto criminals’ bodies. Lee shared the bizarre images on Instagram, highlighting how ridiculous the edits were.

In his first Instagram Story, Lee joked, “Am I a wanted criminal all over the world? Can you get an expert to edit your photos? People don’t believe this, right?” He also sarcastically praised their “amazing work.”

The images were indeed laughable. One photo depicted Lee as a supposed criminal being escorted by FBI agents, but a quick reverse search revealed that the original image was of American mobster Vincent Asaro. Another showed Lee in a courtroom with a shrunken head, originally a photo of former Chinese politician Bo Xilai.

In his final post, Lee urged his followers not to believe the scammers and to report and block any suspicious accounts. He assured his fans that his only legitimate account is the one with a verified blue tick.

Mark Lee’s humorous takedown of the scam attempts serves as a reminder to stay vigilant online and not fall for obvious trickery.
