SINGAPORE: A National University of Singapore (NUS) student recently disclosed that she is paying S$8,500 monthly to rent a 2,000 sq ft, two-bedroom condominium unit near her university. The student shared this information in an interview with Chinese content creator Chen Pujiang before guiding him on a tour of her residence.

Based on the views from her balcony, her apartment is believed to be located at The Trizon condominium near Dover MRT station. Developed by Singapore Land Group Limited and completed in 2012, this 24-story complex features apartments of similar sizes currently listed on PropertyGuru with rental prices ranging from S$8,300 to S$13,800.

Though the student chose to keep personal details private, Chen tagged her social media account when he posted the tour on Xiaohongshu. Her profile indicates that she is 22 years old. Another user commented that she had previously worked as a live streamer, where she reportedly gained “decent success.”

Apartment Details
Located on the 14th floor, the apartment includes a master bedroom, a common bedroom, two bathrooms, a spacious living room, and a kitchen. Most units of this size in the condominium offer at least three bedrooms, but the two-bedroom layout in her unit provides an expansive living area. This open space, especially with the balcony doors open, creates an airy ambiance.

The apartment is elegantly furnished, featuring a leather sofa and a piano in the living room, which she purchased to pursue her hobby of playing music. The balcony includes a small garden and a water feature, with occasional visits from a gardener hired by her landlord to maintain the plants.

Both bedrooms are roomy, enhanced by floor-to-ceiling windows that provide panoramic neighborhood views. The common bedroom has ample space for a study desk, drum set, bed, and wardrobe, while the master bedroom includes luxury touches, such as a LOEWE television, two large wardrobes, and a private bathroom complete with a bathtub.

Lifestyle Choices and Monthly Expenses
Although her lifestyle appears lavish, the student explained that rent remains her largest monthly expense, with her additional living costs around RMB20,000 (S$3,747) for food and transportation. When asked about her choices in luxury brands, she emphasized that material items no longer serve as status symbols to her, stating, “Who I am has nothing to do with what I wear or what I use. I would rather use the money to upgrade myself.”
