Rachel Lim, 28, claims she was treated as a troublemaker after allegedly being molested at Club Wave on Orchard Road, where she was working at an event for an alcohol brand on March 23. Lim told AsiaOne that, as she was leaving around 2 am, a man approached and touched her inappropriately. She confronted him and asked for assistance in identifying him, but says people around her defended the man, claiming he was intoxicated.
In a Facebook post on March 25, Lim expressed feeling “helpless,” recounting that a bouncer approached her, stating, “The boss asked me to drag you out.” Despite her small stature, Lim wrote, “It’s absurd to think I could cause any harm,” emphasizing her frustration.
Lim says she called the police and waited outside for their arrival, facing “aggressive” bouncers who, she claims, became hostile when she filmed them. The club’s boss, whom she identified as “D,” allegedly dismissed her concerns, stating, “It’s part of club life… You’re overreacting.” Lim refused to leave the entrance, awaiting the police.
When officers arrived, however, the alleged perpetrator was gone. Lim’s colleague and a bouncer informed her that the man was likely a friend of the club’s owner and a high-spending customer. “The whole incident was traumatizing,” Lim said, adding that she suffered abrasions during the encounter. She has since filed a police report. Police confirmed that an investigation is underway, and AsiaOne has reached out to Club Wave for comment.
