SINGAPORE — Over 2.7 million Singaporeans are eligible to vote in the upcoming General Election, according to the Elections Department (ELD) of Singapore, which recently revised the voter list. Announced on Monday, July 22, the updated registry includes 2,715,187 registered electors, slightly up from the 2,709,407 eligible for the 2023 Presidential Election and the 2,651,435 from the 2020 General Election.
The list, certified on July 21, is now available for public inspection as of July 23. Singaporeans can check their registration status online via the ELD website or the Singpass app under “My Profile.” For those without online access, checks can be made at community centres, ServiceSG Centres, or by appointment at the ELD office. For overseas Singaporeans, verification can be done at designated overseas missions serving as registration centres.
Individuals removed from the voter roll for previous non-participation can still apply for reinstatement on the ELD website. The ELD recommends submitting early, as reinstatement pauses once an election writ is issued until after Polling Day. Overseas voters listed in the Registers of Electors may register to vote by post or in person at one of ten overseas polling stations, including in cities such as London, New York, and Tokyo.
