Scoot flight TR813 has successfully landed in Singapore after being diverted to Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport on August 13, resulting in a delay of more than four hours.

The flight, which departed from Jeju, South Korea, at 9:59 AM local time (8:59 AM Singapore time), was scheduled to arrive at Singapore’s Changi Airport at 1:55 PM the same day. However, approximately an hour and a half after take-off, the flight was diverted to Taipei, landing at 10:27 AM.

Upon arrival, the plane was met on the tarmac by firefighters and emergency personnel, who were prepared with a fire hose and at least one fire engine on standby. According to a video shared by a reader with Mothership, the passengers appeared calm, and no injuries were reported.

After disembarking, passengers were provided with a meal voucher worth NT$250 (approximately S$10.20). Flight tracking website FlightAware noted that the Airbus A321neo resumed its journey later that day, departing from Taipei at 3:40 PM and arriving in Singapore at 7:50 PM.

One Mothership reader, whose relatives were on the flight, indicated that the same plane was used for the continuation of the journey. They expressed disappointment over the lack of an explanation for the diversion, noting that the meal voucher was insufficient for the situation, as meals at the airport typically cost between NT$260 and NT$330 (S$10.60 to S$13.45).

Mothership has reached out to Scoot for further comments on the incident.
