Fans of Korean bakeries have a new treat to look forward to: Seoul’s iconic Taegeukdang is coming to Singapore. The Butcher’s Dining, a gourmet Korean butchery, announced the bakery’s arrival on Instagram on January 25.

Founded in 1946, Taegeukdang is celebrated as Seoul’s oldest bakery, known for its traditional Korean-style breads and pastries. The original menu featured classic items like yanggaeng (sweet red bean jelly), pancakes, and mooncakes. Today, the bakery is especially famous for treats like Jeonbyeong (crispy rice crackers), Oranda (chewy rice bars), and Monaka ice cream — a milky treat encased in a crispy shell.

Details about the exact launch date and location are yet to be confirmed. The Butcher’s Dining shared that more information will be announced on their social media soon.

Taegeukdang has a loyal following in Seoul, boasting a Google rating of 4.1 stars from over 3,500 reviews. Customers often praise the bakery’s nostalgic charm and traditional ambiance, with many recalling childhood memories tied to the iconic shop. Bread lovers especially regard Taegeukdang as a must-visit for its authentic flavors and time-honored recipes.
