SINGAPORE: A Singaporean mother took to social media to thank Singapore Airlines for going above and beyond to help her family when they accidentally left their passports at Taipei airport. The young family was mid-flight to Singapore on Nov 15 when cabin crew informed them of the oversight.

The mother, in a Facebook post, admitted the passports had been left behind at the Taipei boarding area and described the moment as a “fault on our part.” Without passports, the family faced possible delays upon arrival in Singapore, as reissuing passports can be a lengthy process involving reports and the invalidation of the original documents.

Fortunately, Singapore Airlines stepped in to help. The cabin crew assured the family that their passports were being flown to Singapore on the next flight from Taipei, arriving only three hours after theirs. “Thanks to the staff’s quick response,” the mother shared, “we only had to wait a few hours at Changi Airport.” She also expressed gratitude to Changi Airport ground staff for assisting in retrieving the passports when they arrived.

“Just want to thank SIA’s cabin crew — they really did a great job,” she told The Independent Singapore.

For travelers, her final note was a friendly reminder: “Double-check your passport again and again!”
