In Singapore, an office lunch order from McDonald’s took an unexpected turn when the burgers the group ordered didn’t make it into the delivery. A woman, Ms. Lensi Lin, recounted the ordeal on the “COMPLAINT SINGAPORE” Facebook page, describing how she and her colleagues were left without their much-anticipated burgers.
After realizing their order was incomplete, Ms. Lin contacted the Grab delivery rider, who insisted that he received only one bag from the Woodgrove branch of McDonald’s. Seeking clarity, the group called the restaurant, where the manager confirmed the full order had supposedly been handed to the rider for delivery. Ms. Lin expressed frustration as the manager “kept arguing” that the missing items weren’t McDonald’s fault.
Attempting to resolve the issue quickly, Ms. Lin urged the manager to expedite a solution given their 40-minute lunch break, which ran from 12:00 to 12:40 pm. The manager assured her that he’d arrange for the burgers to be delivered within 10 minutes. However, as the clock reached 12:10 pm, the food had yet to arrive.
At this point, Ms. Lin called again, and the manager explained that he was still waiting for a rider. In exasperation, she noted, “We only have 30 minutes left, and still no confirmed delivery.” When the food finally arrived at 12:53 pm—13 minutes past the end of their break—one burger was still missing. The last burger finally reached the office at 1:15 pm, far beyond their lunch hour.
To add to the confusion, another McDonald’s store manager later informed Ms. Lin that the missing burgers were indeed left behind at the store, uncollected by the rider. “What the fish! Then how come that earlier manager kept arguing with us and said the rider had the entire order?” Ms. Lin wrote, expressing her frustration with the miscommunication.
As of this report, The Independent Singapore has reached out to both Ms. Lin and McDonald’s for further comments and updates on the incident.
