The Singapore passport has once again claimed the title of the world’s most powerful, according to the latest Henley Passport Index released on July 23. With visa-free access to 195 out of 227 destinations, Singapore has now surpassed other top-ranking countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Spain, which held the top spot earlier this year and are now in second place with visa-free access to 192 destinations.
Trailing closely, countries like Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden share the third position, with access to 191 destinations. Other notable rankings include the United Kingdom in fourth, Australia in fifth, and the United States in eighth.
At the bottom of the index, Afghanistan continues to hold the least powerful passport, granting access to only 26 destinations, marking the lowest score ever recorded since the index’s inception 19 years ago. The Henley Passport Index, which ranks 199 passports, is based on data from the International Air Transport Authority.
