SINGAPORE, Nov. 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — UOB and The Business Times have partnered to launch the Sustainability Impact Awards, the first of its kind in Singapore, to honor individuals and companies demonstrating leadership in sustainability. The awards will recognize those who are making a significant positive impact on the environment and community through their actions and decision-making.

The Business Times will co-organize the event with UOB, while the Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School will serve as the knowledge partner.

The awards will feature two main categories: Individual and Enterprise, with the latter divided into sub-categories for SMEs and large enterprises. Each category will highlight an Impact Leader and up to five Excellence Award winners who are driving change for sustainability.

The nominations and detailed judging process will be announced in early 2023.

Chen Huifen, Editor of The Business Times, said, “We aim to recognize efforts that truly make a difference to the environment, communities, and stakeholders. We hope the winners will inspire others to take meaningful actions for the future.”

Eric Lim, Chief Sustainability Officer at UOB, expressed, “As sustainability grows more vital, we want to celebrate the individuals and businesses who lead by example, and encourage more to take action for the betterment of our communities.”

Professor Lawrence Loh, Director of CGS, added, “Sustainability efforts should ultimately bring tangible benefits to society and the environment. We are honored to support the Sustainability Impact Awards with our expertise in governance and sustainability assessments.”
