SINGAPORE: Six individuals were hospitalized following a seven-vehicle collision along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) on the evening of April 22. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) reported that the accident occurred around 9:40 p.m. on the PIE, near the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) exit in the direction of Tuas.

Footage of the accident’s aftermath, shared on the SGRoad Block/Traffic News Telegram group, showed multiple vehicles involved, including a red Trans-Cab taxi. The collision took place on the second lane from the left, resulting in visible damage to at least four vehicles’ front ends. Emergency response teams quickly arrived, with the two left lanes of the expressway temporarily closed to manage the scene.

SCDF confirmed that three individuals were taken to National University Hospital, while another three were transported to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. Police, firefighters, and five ambulances were present at the scene, ensuring prompt medical attention for those injured.

This accident occurred the same day as a fatal multi-vehicle collision in Tampines that claimed two lives and injured eight others, including a young student.
