SINGAPORE – The Workers’ Party (WP) announced its leadership team for the upcoming General Election, with Sylvia Lim re-elected as Chair and Pritam Singh continuing as Secretary-General following the party’s Cadre Members’ Conference on June 30.
The party’s 12-member Central Executive Committee (CEC) was also confirmed, including notable figures like current MPs Gerald Giam, Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap (Aljunied GRC), He Ting Ru, Louis Chua, Jamus Lim (Sengkang GRC), and Dennis Tan (Hougang SMC). Former Aljunied MP and former WP Secretary-General Low Thia Khiang also retained his place on the committee, joined by members Nathaniel Koh, Ang Boon Yaw, Tan Kong Soon, and Kenneth Foo.
The WP, led by Singh since 2018, solidified its presence in Parliament by winning 10 seats in the 2020 General Election, including a second GRC. Lim has been the party’s Chair since 2003, serving Aljunied GRC in Parliament since 2011. The party is now gearing up for the next General Election, speculated to be held as early as September 2025.
