At the Singapore Airshow on Feb. 24, 2024, several visitors from China and Russia were reportedly barred from entering an Airbus military transport plane, sparking frustration and controversy. One Chinese attendee shared on Weibo that a “German serviceman” allegedly forced him off the aircraft upon seeing his Chinese passport. Another visitor claimed that Airbus staff were selectively checking passports of East Asian visitors, allegedly refusing entry to Chinese and Russian nationals.

This visitor recounted that after obtaining entry with a valid ticket, he was confronted by a staff member who allegedly shouted, “Chinese go out!” and pushed him back onto the plane’s ramp, causing a minor injury. Airbus China responded on Weibo the following day, apologizing for the inconvenience and promising to address the entry policy concerns to ensure equal access for all visitors. However, Airbus’s statement did not clarify the identity of the staff members involved or the circumstances surrounding the reported incidents.

Airbus reaffirmed its commitment to China’s aviation industry and highlighted its ongoing investments and collaborations within the country, aiming to reinforce its support for social and economic ties between China and Europe.
