Starting Jan. 4, you can get your Covid-19 vaccination at any vaccination centre from Monday to Saturday without needing an appointment. Children aged six months to four years will also be able to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccine at two Joint Testing and Vaccination Centres (JTVC) from Jan. 16.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that from Jan. 4, eligible individuals of all ages can walk in for their Covid-19 vaccination at JTVCs or Children Vaccination Centres (CVC) without an appointment. However, longer waiting times may be expected on busy days, especially Saturdays.
Vaccinations at polyclinics and Public Health Preparedness Clinics still require appointments, except for seniors aged 80 years and above at polyclinics. To find your nearest vaccination site, visit https://www.gowhere.gov.sg/vaccine.
Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty Vaccine for Young Children
Beginning Jan. 16, the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccine will be available for children aged six months to four years at JTVC Ang Mo Kio and JTVC Bukit Merah. This follows the Expert Committee on Covid-19 Vaccination’s recommendation to offer the vaccine as an alternative to Moderna/Spikevax for this age group.
These two centres will also provide the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccine for children aged five to 11 to ensure minimum protection. The Pfizer vaccine requires three doses spaced eight weeks apart, while the Moderna/Spikevax vaccine requires two doses over the same time period.
MOH encourages parents to have their children vaccinated to protect them from severe illness and hospitalisation in the event of Covid-19 infection.
