A Singaporean woman took bold action after experiencing two instances of voyeurism from different men on the same day. In a determined bid to catch one of the perpetrators, she used herself as bait, recording his actions in secret.
In a TikTok video, she recounted the June 4 encounter, describing how she first felt “violated” when a man allegedly took upskirt videos of her at Scarlett Supermarket in Nex. He had trailed her from one store to another for about 30 minutes, though she didn’t alert authorities initially due to a lack of evidence.
Undeterred, she returned to the mall’s Cold Storage at around 5:30 p.m., only to notice a second man allegedly filming her while she was browsing flowers. Although she initially walked away, she soon “mustered the courage” to catch him in the act, strategically positioning herself to capture footage of the man squatting with his phone angled upwards. She saw the phone was in camera mode and observed him adjusting his angle as she moved, even recording another woman in the process.
Once her partner arrived, she called the police. Although the man left before authorities arrived, he was later arrested. The police confirmed that they received a call for assistance on June 4 at 5:45 p.m., leading to the arrest of a 38-year-old man on voyeurism charges.
Cold Storage’s parent company, DFI Retail Group, clarified that the man was a driver for an external vendor and not a DFI employee. A team member on-site during the incident is assisting law enforcement with the ongoing investigation.
